On April 22nd, the “Junlan” — the world’s largest all-electric drive detachable eco-friendly suction dredger — was officially launched in the Guanting Reservoir Dredging Pilot Project in Beijing. This groundbreaking vessel, designed by CCCC Group, features core transmission components supplied by Advance Gearbox (Hangzhou Advance Gearbox Co., LTD). The vessel boasts a maximum dredging depth of 60 meters and a capacity to extract 2,000 cubic meters of sediment per hour, thanks to a state-of-the-art gear system integrated into its powerful mud pump and reamer systems. On 2025 April 22nd, the world’s largest all-electric drive detachable environmental protection suction dredger“Junlan”equipped with Hangzhou Advance Gearbox’s products was formally launched in Beijing Guanting Reservoir Dredging Pilot Project. This super engineering equipment is designed and built by CCCC Group, and its cabin pump gearbox is produced by Hangzhou Gearbox Co., LTD. When the vessel is in operation, the maximum dredging depth can be up to 60 meters (with the addition of a deep water module), and the hourly standard dredging volume is up to 2,000 cubic meters, which is equivalent to digging out a standard swimming pool every hour.
“Junlan”is a customized dredging tool for the Guanting Hall Reservoir, with a total length of 67 meters, a width of 11.95 meters, a maximum dredging depth of 25 meters, and a total installed power of 4,520 kilowatts. The ship adopts a frequency conversion power-driven reamer excavation system and mud pump delivery system, with a reamer drive power of 600 kW. “Junlan” has a number of ‘unique skills’. It is equipped with the strongest power-driven excavation and conveying system in the field of detachable dredging equipment. During operation, the reamer is like an “underwater diamond drill”, which can easily excavate medium to high-strength soils, and the excavation efficiency is three times higher than that of the previous equipment, and it is planned to remove 11,538,700 cubic meters of contaminated mud from the bottom of the reservoir. The commissioning of the “Junlan” will significantly enhance the construction progress and improve the water quality and function of the Guanting Hall Reservoir.
How to transport the mud produced during dredging is usually a difficult problem. For this reason, the ship is equipped with a new type of mud pump independently developed by China, which is internationally advanced, and the bilge pump produced by Hangzhou Advance Gearbox, which is “tandem relay”.

For the core transmission device of the dredging process of the vessel, the gearbox of the bilge pump produced by Advance Gearbox integrates the clutch transmission function, overcoming a number of technical problems and significantly improving the construction progress.The gearboxes are equipped with high-voltage shore power access module, realizing zero carbon emission. Meanwhile, a new type of environmental protection reamer designed by independent research and development is assembled, which is equivalent to an “underwater minimally invasive scalpel”, and can accurately excavate contaminated mud without disturbing the surrounding water body, realizing “zero-leakage excavation”. Successfully matched with the shipboard 6000m³/h class large flow mud pump, realizing 5km ultra-long pumping and conveying distance. The integrated clutch transmission system of Advance Gearbox’s bilge pump gearbox makes the vessel increase the advantages of detachable, large deep digging, long displacement, high efficiency, no pollution and so on.
