Advance GWC78.96 Marine Gearbox
The speed input range of the Advance GWC78.96 marine gearbox is 200–900 RPM, with engine input power from 1462 kW to 10602 kW. The reduction ratio range is 4.97–8.00, the transmission capacity range is 7.31–11.78 kW/RPM, and the input shaft rotates in the opposite direction to the output shaft.
Advance GWC78.96 marine gearbox consists of transmission shaft, output coupling, input coupling, oil pressure gauge, oil filter, control system, oil pump and other important components.
Advance GWC78.96 marine gearboxes provides two types of control system which are electric control and pneumatic control for customers to choose. To meet the different requirement of coupling with different engine brands and models, Advance GWC78.96 marine gearboxes support multiple engine flywheel sizes for flexible installation.
All of our Advance GWC series marine gearboxes can provide CCS classification certificate, additional fees apply for certifications from international classification societies, mainly including French BV, British LR, American ABS, Japanese NK, Norway DNV-GL, Russia RS, South Korea KR, Italy RINA and other mainstream classification societies.

The optimized design enables softer and smoother layout matching between the gearbox and engine.It is compatible with domestic and foreign high-speed diesel engines, and supports vertical, horizontal and inclined installation layouts to meet users’ various arrangement requirements.
The gearbox adopts a combined modular design. All moving components are elaborately designed and precision-machined to stringent standards, helping reduce fuel consumption and deliver stable running performance. It can be matched with most mainstream engine models.
Adopting 2-stage reduction design, the input and output share the same centerline. It is equipped with a reverse clutch reduction function under same-direction rotation conditions.

- The “transfer capacity” refers to the ratio of the engine’s rated power to the rated speed, and the reduction ratio corresponds to the transmission capacity, which should be less than the number be offered.
- The gearbox and engine shafting are not allowed to use rigid connection, and the bracket is recommended to be installed on the same rigid support.If the engine is mounted on the elastic support, and the gearbox is installed on the rigid support, please contact the technical department of the company to select the suitable high elastic coupling.
